2010 IAM Conference

FULL SPEED AHEAD!

Idaho Association of Museums
2010 Annual Conference
April 16-17, Nampa, Idaho

Moving along with the theme, Full Speed Ahead, conference participants will learn new skills and ideas about planning, designing, and implementing interpretive exhibits.

The main presenters, Barbara Bauer and Elizabeth Jacox of TAG Historical Research, have been providing assistance to small museums over 15 years. Their overview will provide the tools needed by small museums on a tight budget to create beautiful, coherent exhibits using their own museum collections.

Museum people from around the state will present an overview of exhibits they've done. Find out how to create virtual exhibits and try out a touch screen. You'll also learn how the Potlatch community saved an historic railroad depot.

There will be time to relax after the Friday sessions with a walking tour of historic downtown Nampa, and a reception later at the Union Pacific Depot Museum. Come and tour the museum and enjoy a selection of desserts, wine, beer, and other beverages.

The conference will take place in Nampa, hosted by the Canyon County Historical Museum. The Friday and Saturday sessions will be at the 1908 Women's Century Club clubhouse.
